Hawa Charcoal Chicken is a family owned business in South Granville. They have mouth-watering chicken and garlic. They reflect the family, cultural and community values of the Club. Their customers have had to endure a very loud footy team, at times, banging on Lebanese drums in the restaurant to celebrate a win or commiserations.
One of the best experiences is post match, win or lose, the Auburn Giants invite the team we played to eat lunch with us.
While transitioning from the Auburn Tigers to the Auburn Giants – somewhere in the sky on a plane from Sydney to Melbourne, Amna met Paul, a Harvey Norman employee. Paul told Amna about the Harvey Norman family and in particular the CEO Katie Page, and her passion for advancing women in sport and business.
In 2013, at the Fair Go for the West dinner, Katie presented an award. This was a great opportunity for Amna to tell her about this fantastic football Club.
By 2014, the wheels were in motion and Harvey Norman announced the partnership with GWS Giants and the Auburn Giants.
The HN sponsorship enabled the Club to launch the Youth Girls team. The Harvey Norman partnership has enriched the Club through introductions to the store close to the club, job opportunities for some of the team members, media opportunities to promote the team and women in sport and fundraising.
